In conjunction with our Annual Economic Developerment, the GEDP publishes a Developer Profile. This publication provides detailed demographic and statistical information for Galveston and each of its major industry sectors; highlights of future, current and recently completed projects and developments; and a community snapshot for all ciities within Galveston County.

At the present time, GEDP leadership continues to actively monitor and evaluate contingencies necessary for the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business community.
GEDP offices are open and staff maintains availability to be of service to you.
At this stage, GEDP will not be holding any in-person task force meetings or speical events through the end of April.
But rest assured, we will continue to work for our community!
COVID-19 Business Recovery Loan Program
Local Banks helping Local Businesses.
Once again, our local banks - Hometown Bank, Moody Bank and Texas First Bank have activated their Business Recovery Loan Program that was initially put together after Hurricane Ike. The current program will provide for a short-term (180 day) low interest (fixed rate – 3.25% APR) single-pay note. The APR (Annual Percentage Rate) will be offered for a limited time (through June 30, 2020) and is intended to provide gap financing for businesses awaiting insurance, SBA or other funding in their long-term recovery.
