COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT

At the present time, GEDP leadership continues to actively monitor and evaluate contingencies necessary for the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business community.

GEDP offices are open and staff maintains availability to be of service to you.

At this stage, GEDP will not be holding any in-person task force meetings or speical events through the end of April.

But rest assured, we will continue to work for our community!

 


 

GOVERNOR'S REPORT: Steps to Open Texas

As some businesses are given the green light to begin opening with limitations starting May 1, individuals, employers, employees, and customers are encouraged to review, print out, and follow the MINIMUM health protocols recommended by DSHS in the checklists in the Steps to Open Ttexas report below.

In addition to federal and state employment laws and workplace safety standards.  The DSHS minimum recommended health protocols are subject to change based on new and evolving information. 


COVID-19 Business Recovery Loan Program

Local Banks helping Local Businesses. 

Once again, our local banks - Hometown Bank, Moody Bank and Texas First Bank have activated their Business Recovery Loan Program that was initially put together after Hurricane Ike. The current program will provide for a short-term (180 day) low interest (fixed rate – 3.25% APR) single-pay note. The APR (Annual Percentage Rate) will be offered for a limited time (through June 30, 2020) and is intended to provide gap financing for businesses awaiting insurance, SBA or other funding in their long-term recovery.
